July 17th 2009 our dear friend and team mate, Randi Greene lost her battle with cancer. She will forever be missed and forever fill our hearts... This page is dedicated to Randi. If you would like to add any message, picture, or memory for Randi, please feel free to email them to us at westernstarequestriandrillteam@yahoo.com Randi touched the lives of everyone she met and left a piece of her with everyone she met. She was an amazingly strong woman who is an inspiration to us all. Randi loved riding drill. Her dream was to perform at the Cow Palace and unfortunately the drill challenge was cancelled at the Cow Palace for 2009. We tried to get Randi to compete in the May competition in Ceres, CA but a week before the competition Randi had surgery and was not able to ride, not because she didn't want to, if she was allowed to she would have been on her horse! Another team mate, Judy Gorshe rode Randi's horse Donovan in Randi's honor as Ceres. Randi was able to be there and watch and although she was not riding with us, we felt her spirit and love in the arena. July 19, 2009 we rode in the Salinas Rodeo Parade and dedicated our ride to Randi. We took a first place trophy home for her as we new she was there guiding us with her courage. It was an amazingly quiet ride and so smooth for a parade that we knew she had to be there!
....Randi was so full of courage, her courage will live on in our hearts and our team, Randi's team. |
